UAAP Season 86 women's basketball tournament Game Day 6 results
There is simply no stopping the University of the Philippines at this point — at least not yet.
The Fighting Maroons women’s basketball squad stretched its winning streak to six games, while other frontrunners National University, University of Santo Tomas, and Ateneo de Manila University are slowly shaping up the early Final Four race.
Here are the results of Game Day 6 of the tournament:
Adamson University (AdU) 71, Far Eastern University (FEU) 50
Coach Ryan Monteclaro and his Adamson Lady Falcons registered their second straight win of the women’s basketball tournament in style, beating the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 71-50.
Coming off a breakthrough win a few days ago over the University of the East (UE), the Falcons raced off to a 21-6 start and led by as much as 28 points later on.
Francine Meniano had 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals for the San Marcelino side, shooting 50 percent from the floor.
Nigerian center Victoria Adeshina added 10 points and eight boards while five others chipped in at least six points each.
Josee Kaputu was a one-woman show for the Lady Tams with a double-double of 24 points and 21 rebounds.
However, her teammates combined to shoot only 26.5 percent overall.
The result enabled Adamson to tie FEU at 2-4 in the team standings.
University of the Philippines (UP) 65, De La Salle University (DLSU) 61
The undefeated UP Fighting Maroons prevailed in another tight battle, this time against the De La Salle Lady Archers, 65-61 on Wednesday at the Adamson Gym to stretch their unbeaten run to six games.

The Fighting Maroons had a 16-11 fourth quarter to close the game strong after trailing by as much as seven early on.
University of Santo Tomas (UST) 90, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) 67
The UST Golden Tigresses found a way to arrest their two-game skid using a strong second half as they drubbed fellow Final Four contender Ateneo, 90-67.
Kent Pastrana led the squad with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals while Tacky Tacatac and Agatha Bron both tallied 15 points.

However, the Blue Eagles committed 34 turnovers which the Tigers converted to 44 extra points.
The Tigresses also outscored the Blue Eagles, 51-34 in the second half to improve to 4-2.
The matchup featured the first battle from the sidelines between Ateneo’s Bacon Austria and UST’s Ged Austria — two assistant coaches who are picking up from their father Leo’s coaching legacy.
National University (NU) 72, University of the East (UE) 50
The NU Lady Bulldogs destroyed the UE Lady Warriors, 72-50 to remain in second place like their men’s basketball counterparts.

NU shut UE down to just nine third quarter points to pad its lead to as high as 24 in the wire-to-wire contest.
The eight-peat seeking defending champions had a commanding 48-22 disparity in points in the paint, scored 28 points off turnovers, and had 16 fastbreak points.
Rrixie Burgos led the Lady Warriors with 12 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from two-point range, 14 boards, two assists, two steals, and four blocks.
